Exploring and unpacking our identities, and reflecting on how we see ourselves in our roles in life is so critical at our age since many of the roles that once defined us begin to shift. Children grow, careers change, relationships evolve, parents age or pass, and the identities built around being needed, productive, pleasing, or performing may no longer fit. This season of life invites a deeper question: Who am I beneath all the titles and expectations? As we both age and grow, we learn that our identity is no longer about proving worth through doing—it’s about remembering inherent worth through being. Exploring identity in this chapter allows us to release outdated versions of ourselves, reclaim hidden parts that were set aside, and step into a more sovereign, authentic expression of our power, wisdom, and truth.
I have been hundreds of different women.
Dancing in innocence as maiden.
Walking in coherence beside my true love.
Swirling in the currents of mother and grandmother.
Grounding as CEO, as partner.
Tenderly sitting beside the dying.
Walking my parents to their graves.
Equestrienne, neighbor, friend.
Dog mother, Dem, board member, resistor, facilitator.
I feel I have lived it all
under one guise or another.
But they recede, they do—
the guises and disguises.
The onion peels back.
Layer by layer,
the cells have less to cling to.
My parents are gone,
and the tendrils of daughter
grow lighter and lighter.
My sons are grown,
and the responsibilities
shift, change, soften.
I am no longer bound by any of it
unless the world reminds me from time to time:
woman, elder, Jew.
Who am I?
That is what lingers.
What fills the crevices
left by those long gone
and those more recently departed.
I still think I do not know.
But at my essence,
the core of my being,
I do.

Upcoming Event! June 20th, the Farm
A Shamanic Journey is one of humanity’s oldest healing practices, rooted in the traditions of indigenous cultures across Siberia, Mongolia, and the Americas. Through rhythmic drumming and guided intention, the journeyer enters an expanded state of consciousness — a sacred bridge between the ordinary world and the spirit realms of the Upper, Middle, and Lower Worlds.
Our facilitator,Violeta, offers a grounded, compassionate space to help you reconnect with your essence and recover a life direction that is chosen, not imposed. Many of us are seeking the strength to make bold decisions and shifts in our lives — to finally align our outer world with our inner knowing.
Come and join us on the special occasion of the Summer Solstice at Ogden Farm in Middletown VA.
